Five years have passed since God blessed for Ukraine the new Patriarch of the true Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the faithful son of Ukraine, the devoted servant of God - Patriarch Moses.
By the great mercy, God chose for Ukraine the Patriarch, who was elevated on June 17, 2005 on the World Bishop's Council of the UAOC-C. God summoned the hierarchs from the entire world to attest His Holy will for the enthronement of the Patriarch for the God's Church.
Not by their own wish, but by the will of God, the hierarchs summoned, so that the Holy Synod elevated unanimously Metropolitan Moses to the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine, the Primate of the UAOC Canonical.
The enthronement of Patriarch Moses took place on June 18, 2005 in the sacred place for the Ukrainian people - the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, where the chosen, the most devoted sons of Ukraine swore allegiance to Ukraine, its people and God, where the enthronement of the first Ukrainian Patriarch - Mstyslav - took place. Here the Local Council of the UAOC-Canonical was held, during which the enthronement of Moses, the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine occurred. Lord Himself did invisibly the great holy sacrament, and the Holy Spirit filled the Cathedral and the souls of all the present with rising in spirit and understanding of the majesty of that event. Lord blessed the koukoulion of Patriarch Moses with the ray of light, which cut through the dense clouds in the moment of putting the Patriarch's koukoulion on the Moses' head. This ray of sunlight cut through the clouds and windows of the dome to focus the illumination on the Patriarch's koukoulion and to show everyone that it was His Holy will.
The faithful, the priests and the hierarchs supported unanimously and with one heart the electing of their canonical Patriarch Moses. "Axios, Axios, Axios", - was heard and that made the souls rejoice.
Patriarch Moses took the heavy cross of the Patriarchal service and got down to the complicated, difficult and, how it has turned out, dangerous mission of the developing of the God's Church for Ukraine, for help and salvation of the thirst and pained human souls. Patriarch predicted about his difficult serving in his address to the faithful (enthronement...).
The five years of serving have passed in persistent, devoted daily work in the Glory of God for the development of the God's Church.
For this time, by the mercy of God and under the guidance and with the immediate participation of Patriarch himself, the cathedral of Transfiguration of Lord was built. It was being built for three years, what would not happen without the help of God. The cathedral became the real abode of God, where the Angels of God and the Grace of God always remain. The grace of God, which descends plentifully upon all people, who need and seek for It.
By the constant care of Patriarch Moses, the preparation and training of the clergy - the sincere and devoted to God pastors, the true servants of God - is going on. The school of priests of the UAOC-C, founded by Patriarch Moses, prepares such.
The Church has the international status; therefore one of the important directions of Patriarch's activity is the development of the Church and its parishes all around the world. Thus, Patriarch, now and again, goes to France, Italy, Poland and other countries to fulfill his mission. During his trips, Patriarch meets with the parishioners and the clergy not only of his Church but with the faithful of other Churches and denominations, as we all are the children of God. For his tolerant, fraternal attitude and respect for other religions and Churches, for profound knowledge from God and understanding of ministration of other pastors, Patriarch Moses has got the deserved respect among the clergy all around the world, among the God's children, who indeed are seeking for the God's verity.
However, the evil, which thrusts its claws into the human souls, which poisons these souls with lie, exterminating their possibility for salvation is not pleased with the Patriarch's sincere and devoted service to God, to native Ukraine and to his people. Therefore the way of the Patriarchal service in the country, pierced with disbelief and corruption is so uneasy and thorny. Therefore, the enemies of God and of Ukraine try to defame and dishonor cheekily his name.
His serving is equal to the Apostolic serving. Patriarch Moses, as Apostle, brings to people the true teaching of Our Lord Jesus Christ - the Savior, who has sacrificed Himself for our salvation. Likewise Patriarch Moses has laid his life to the altar of service to God.
In spite of all the obstacles done by the evil, Patriarch Moses follows invariably the way, shown by God. He has not ceased to read his course of lectures "The secrets of happy life with God". These lectures are the genuine elixir for the pained and thirst for the verity of God. These lectures revive in people the hope and faith in something better, return people to God, reanimate the human hearts, help to become happier and comprehend the God's love in their hearts.
But for his love and devotion to God, Ukraine and people, Patriarch receives difficult trials. From the threats and oppression, the enemies of the Church have passed to the direct attacks, which threaten the Patriarch's life. Thus, Patriarch was forced to leave Ukraine like 18 years ago.
"Son, Lord Himself has sent you to help me in developing of the Christ?s Church?" - so said Patriarch Mstyslav, when the future Patriarch Moses, then Father Oleg, arrived to the USA to find a refuge from the persecutions. Ukraine may say the same words: "My son, Lord Himself has sent you to me", - but the enemies of the Church do not give the possibility for this emissary of God to work in Ukraine. But everything is the God's will, and everything is in His power.
We, the Clergy and the faithful of the UAOC-C believe that by the will of God and with the Blessing of God, Patriarch Moses will return to native Ukraine and will continue his mission in the glory of God and for the development of the God's Church and the revival of the spirituality of our people.
