On December 10, the clergy and the faithful of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical presented the application to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko and held the protest action near the edifice of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine against the discrimination of UAOC-C and its Primate – Patriarch Moses.
In 1990, the Ukrainian patriots tried to return to Ukraine the canonical lineage of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church through electing to the office of the Patriarch of UAOC in Ukraine the Primate of UOC in America Metropolitan Mstyslav (Skrypnyk). The death of Patriarch Mstyslav and the thirst for power of the clerics who supported the Soviet rule stopped that process.
In 2002, the hierarchs of the UAOC-Sobornopravna in the Diaspora tried to return the canonical lineage of the Ukrainian Orthodoxy through appointing Metropolitan Moisei (Koulik) to Ukraine. But the church leaders in Ukraine who are the proteges of the communist regime rose against that. For them the establishing in Ukraine of the God’s Church that has the canonical Episcopal lineage to Apostle Peter is the real threat.
The persecutions have been lasting for almost 8 years. Both the church and secular power in Ukraine are aware of their illegal actions and harsh defiance of the decision of the court concerning the registration of the church headed by Patriarch Moses.
Since October the discrimination of UAOC-C in Ukraine has reached its climax and passed into the stage of the undisguised and cynical annihilation of the Church. On October 5-6, they tried to kill Patriarch Moses and the predatory attack to the church in Kyiv was committed. On November 12, the assault on Bishop Vasyliy and capture of the church in Uzhgorod took place. The clergy and the faithful are persecuted. The wave of the ordered dirt has risen in the mass media and the fabricated criminal case was opened against Patriarch Moses.
The direct actions aimed at the annihilation of Patriarch Moses and UAOC-C reveal the hiring individuals concerned and the organizers of this offence as well as the corrupted staff of the state authorities of the different levels who are the executors of this operation.
The clergy and the faithful of the UAOC-C address to the people of the Good will, address to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko appealing to stand up for the canonical lineage of the Ukrainian Orthodoxy in Ukraine.
