CELEBRATION OF ST. NICHOLAS’ DAY

On the 23rd of December, after the Divine Liturgy, the celebration of St. Nicholas' Day took place.

The children were preparing for their favourite holiday and looking forward to its beginning.

And then St. Nicholas himself entered the hall, greeted with the loud applause. The children recognized him at once, though he looked very much like Vladyka Oleksandr. St. Nicholas' kind and gentle words filled the hearts with joy. In return, the children sang and recited poems. One by one, they came up to St. Nicholas with their holiday greetings and cast an interested glance at the fairy bag with the presents. At last the wishful bag was opened, and the presents were taken out of it again and again.

But the most valuable present was the inner light, which filled the hearts of the children and adults. And that light they carried to their homes.
